Half conductors taking part in protest action and no ticket checks

About half of all conductors today does not check for tickets. They do so in protest against the removal of a second conductor on the older, slightly shorter biplane.

Total driving twenty of such trains around. The action is in partnership with trade union FNV. Conductors are participating in the protest that a colleague on the train is important for safety, but the NS thinks otherwise and does not follow the requirements of the staff.

Identified by sticker
FNV spokesman Andries van den Berg explains that the additional colleague on the train is important. Thus check the conductors for example, along the top and bottom, so that black travelers can not quickly walk to bypass control. This involves "social security".

"We want to draw the line," says Van den Berg. He expects about 50 percent of all conductors participating in the action. You recognize these conductors on a sticker. They share cards in order to get support from travelers.

Not rollback is strike
Conductors NS presented an ultimatum. At the end of the day, last Friday, the carrier should have reversed the rule. If not, then followed the strike. The action started last night around 04:00 pm and runs until 15:00.

NS indicates travelers that they just have to pay and that the gates only open on drives when you turn on or check out. Previously, the company called the action from the staff "unfortunate and unnecessary."
