Police from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand launched a joint patrol of the Mekong River from Guanlei of southwest China’s Yunnan Province on Tuesday. The four-day crackdown will target trafficking of drugs and guns, as well as smuggling and illegal immigration. This is
the 51st joint patrol since China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand began the initiative in December 2011, to ensure shipping safety along the Mekong.
